The importation and transshipment of animals are subject to certain control procedures (see: ”Loi fédérale sur les épizooties”, 1er juillet 1966 and related provisions, the Washington convention on endangered species, 03 MAR 1973 and the ”Ordonnance sur la conservation des espèces”, 16 juin 1975).
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Live Animals Regulation on labelling and CONST of containers is compulsory.
The importation, transshipment and exportation of war material are subject to a special AUTH to be granted by the Direction de l’administration militaire fédérale, CH-3003 Berne.
Certain ”dual-use” goods can not be exported without prior written APV by the Federal Office of Foreign Economic Affairs, Import and Export Division, Section Industrial Products, CH-3003 Berne. For the transit of these goods, a legal AUTH of the country of origin has to be produced.
The importation and exportation of drugs are subject to an AUTH to be granted by the Office fédéral de la santé publique, section pharmaceutique, CH-3012 Berne.

On a worldwide basis, the carriage of human remains is governed by the ”Arrangement international concernant le transport des corps” concluded at Berlin on 10 FEB 1937.
Contracting parties: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Republic of Zaire, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkey.
Such shipments coming from non-contracting States must be accompanied by a ”laissez-passer” issued by a Swiss diplomatic or consular representation.
On a European basis, the carriage of human remains is governed by the ”Agreement on the transfer of corpes” concluded at Strassburg on 26 OCT 1973 and signed by Switzerland on 17 DEC 1979.
